Ian joined me in Bangkok where I forced him to see lots of temples but we also did some pretty cool things like eat bugs (scorpions) and take the water taxis.

Next, we went to Koh Tao which was our favourite island by far. It’s not too touristy, fairly small and very scenic.

Of course, we went to Koh Phangan (aka the party island) to do the Full Moon Party and play on the enormous Slip ‘n’ Fly.

We were aching to do some climbing, so skipped Koh Samui and went on to Krabi. Unfortunately, monsoon had fully hit at this point so we only got two days of climbing in but did plenty of other fun things.

There’s only so much you can do on the islands when it rains all day with tropical storms in between so we decided to cut our losses and go north. Next stop, Chiang Mai!
